About the club:
<\/strong>Kojo has been under the instruction of Kieran since 2014 having previously been under the tuition of Sensei Julius George*<\/u><\/strong> since the club opened in the late 1980\u2019s.
We have five sessions available during the week, with the majority catering towards mixed age groups of those aged 5 years and above. What can be expected from a session with us would be 10-25 minutes warm up exercises which include stretches and basic techniques, the remaining time will either be spent working on kata, kihon ippon kumite, ju ippon kumite or working on potential close quarter scenarios.<\/p>\n

About the instructor:
<\/strong>With almost 25 years experience Kieran started his karate journey from around the age of 6 watching his siblings and mum do their training. Inspired by the fierce and tenacious nature of all the students in the dojo he couldn\u2019t wait to get started, practicing outside shops, at the side of the dojo, at home, anywhere and everywhere until the day he could don the gi and begin for real earning accolades in the regional and national competitions.
Training under Sensei Julius George he received his junior black belt at the age of 12, Shodan at the age of 16 and Nidan at the age of 19. Having had the privilege of going on a course taught by Sensei Kanazawa and experienced grading under Sensei Colin Williams<\/p>\n

*Sensei Julius George<\/u><\/strong> is one of Bukonkai\u2019s longest serving Instructors and has had a huge influence on the shaping of Bukonkai\u2019s Southern region and the present structure. Having trained under the guidance of Shian Colin Williams and with most of the Japanese Senior Instructors he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his classes. At 5th Dan Sensei Julius\u2019 skill and dedication has helped to shape the karate of many of the Black Belts in the region, particularly the current group of club instructors.
