{"id":116,"date":"2022-09-05T10:51:41","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T10:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bukonkaikarate.co.uk\/?page_id=116"},"modified":"2022-09-05T10:51:41","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T10:51:41","slug":"the-founder-of-bukonkai-karate","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bukonkaikarate.co.uk\/index.php\/the-founder-of-bukonkai-karate\/","title":{"rendered":"The Founder Of Bukonkai Karate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BKI (Bukonkai Karate International) was founded by the late Sensei Colin Williams 7th Dan , in the early 80s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sensei Colin began his own training in the late 50\u2019s when karate was still in it\u2019s infancy in the UK. Dojos were few &amp; far between at the time but Sensei Colin had cought the Bug &amp; made training his priority. His competition karate took him to great heights &amp; Sensei became a member of the GB karate team travelling around Europe to represent his country. He founded Chester Shotokan in the early 70s &amp; it wasn\u2019t long before his Dojo became one of the best competitive clubs in the country at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sensei\u2019s main stream of thought was \u2018Traditional Shotokan Karate\u2019. He wanted to pass his knowledge of traditional and original Shotokan Karate on to his students, the way it was intended and taught by the Japanese Masters like Sensei Funakoshi.
